Finchley Team Win 2014 OGI Games!

Congratulations to the Finchley OGI team who beat stiff competition to win this year’s Olimpiadi della Gioventu Italiana (OGI) held at the famous Allianz Park, Hendon.

The Olimpiadi Gioventu Italiana (OGI) was founded in 1978 by St.Peter’s Italian Club in London to offer all young people in the Italian communities of the UK the chance to take part in a three-day Olympic event, regardless of ability.

The three day event came to a momentous end yesterday with the Filippo Berio sponsored Finchley team coming in first place – scooping up a total of 57 gold medals!

Presenting the medals were: Italian footballing legend, Marco Tardelli who scored when Italy won the World Cup in 1982 – as well as Giorgio Locatelli, Antonio Carluccio, Padre Carmelo of St. Peter’s Church and the Italian Consul General, Massimiliano Mazzanti.

Filippo Berio are proud to be part of this wonderful event as well as sponsoring the Finchley team.  Congratulations to all who took part and thank you to those who gave up their time to make this event possible!
