Born with a love of food, Tina’s parents ran a cafe that they lived above where everything was made by hand. Tina recalls waking up for school aged 7 with the smell of her Mothers quiche & lemon meringue pies wafting up the stairs. It was the 1970’s! Her Hungarian and Scottish heritage meant they ate the unusual alongside the comforting; which has shaped Tina’s approach to food and eating.
Tina worked in hospitality for 20 years in some amazing London restaurants including The Anglesea Arms and The Brackenbury. After moving to Brighton in 2008, Tina completed a degree in Culinary Arts and then started her own business- CanTina Brighton, which she describes as a boutique catering service offering delicious cookery for a variety of parties and events. But it doesn’t just stop there! Tina has been hosting her very own supper club since September 2011. CanTina has been well reviewed locally and also nationally featured in Grazia, BBC Olive & Stylist magazine as one of the best supper clubs in the UK.
The supper club has offered her an opportunity to get creative in menu planning and to cook things she loves to eat and share with like minded foodies. Hosting from her very own cosy dining space, there is room for up to 18 guests. Diners are seated over a long sharing table, where they can BYOB and enjoy some conversation with new friendly faces.
Tina’s food is based around seasonality and is big on taste and texture. She likes her food to be about the flavour more than the process.
On the 2nd & 3rd March, Tina will be hosting two completely Vegan supper clubs, after discovering her love for plant based cooking & eating in recent years. There will be five delicious courses plus treats and drinks included in the ticket price. Not to mention a Filippo Berio olive oil tasting and goodie bag to take away at the end of the evening!
There are just two spaces left for the 2nd of March and 10 seats for the 3rd. Contact CanTina Brighton now and don’t miss out on this fabulous foodie evening!
