emma grant crowned rotary young chef 2016
We’re delighted to announce that the winner of the Rotary Young Chef 2016 is 17 year old, Emma Grant, from the Rotary Club of Cumbernauld. Eight national finalists aged between 13 and 17 competed for the coveted title at the Lincoln College in Lincolnshire.
Having already beaten 6,500 young competitors from Rotary Clubs across Britain and Ireland, the eight finalists prepared and presented a three-course meal for highly qualified judges, including Lewis Wilson who won last year’s competition.
Emma treated the judges to a starter of a Breast of Quail with a Butternut Risotto and a main course of Hake with a Canellini and Chorizo Bean stew with a Bean Puree all followed by a dessert of Pana Cotta with Vanilla Poached Plums and a Granola Crumble.
Second place went to 13 year old Jane Rooke, from the Rotary Club of South Ribble and in third place was 15 year old Katie Platt, from the Rotary Club of Casterbridge.
